Plastic card design, front and back.

A plastic card is a physical object with production realities. The design has to account for the chip, the contactless mark, the signature panel and how the finish behaves in the hand.

You receive several creative directions and choose one. That single direction becomes your completed design, adapted across every format included in your package.

Plastic cards, concept design

What to consider

Front and back
Both faces designed as a coherent whole.
Chip position
Layout that respects the module position.
Contactless mark
Clear placement of the contactless indicator.
Signature panel
Where a signature panel and related text sit on the reverse.
Card information
Placeholder number, expiry and name balanced with brand elements.
Print & finish awareness
Designed with common print and finish behaviour in mind.
Finish and edge treatment
Matte, gloss, soft-touch, spot varnish, metal foil, and coloured or printed card edges. These change the object as much as the artwork does, and we suggest what suits your direction.

Questions

Common questions.

What is a creative concept?

A distinct visual direction, shown as one front-card visual, one standard mockup, a short name and a one- or two-sentence explanation. It is a direction, not a finished production file, only the direction you select is developed into the complete design.

What is a revision round?

One consolidated set of changes submitted at one time for the selected direction. A new creative direction, a new brief, a new brand identity or a format outside your package are not revisions.

What do I actually receive?

You receive design files: print-ready vector artwork as PDF, Adobe Illustrator (.ai) and EPS, with text outlined for production where appropriate. These are the finished designs, not manufactured cards. If you would like the cards produced, we can arrange manufacturing separately, quoted on top of the design package.

Can you guarantee Visa or Mastercard approval?

No. We produce scheme-aware, production-conscious design reviewed against known card-scheme brand considerations. Final approval remains subject to the issuer, relevant card scheme, programme partners and selected manufacturer.
